Online Mentoring PDF Print E-mail

'The online mentoring was a fantastic opportunity to talk to a real expert about issues which were directly related to my department and my school.  I left buzzing with new ideas and resources and, above all, such enthusiasm for my subject.'

Head of English, Hoe Bridge School, Surrey

English IPS offers a unique service to prep school colleagues, through our online mentoring packages.

Teaching can be a solitary occupation, particularly if you are the only English specialist in your Prep school. English IPS offers you the chance to put your questions to experts, who will be able to offer practical advice and support in all areas of English and Drama teaching, from planning schemes and policy documents, ideas and resources, to departmental management and budgeting.

Online mentor, Andrew Hammond, has taught in a range of Prep schools, serving as a Year 5 class teacher, Head of Year 6, Head of English and Drama, Boarding Housemaster and Key Stage 3 Co-ordinator. Andrew has written over thirty educational books for Galore Park, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Hodder, Heinemann, Rigby, Sage and Rising Stars. He contributes regularly to the TES. Andrew holds a BA (Hons) QTS (Bath) and an MA in English in Education (Kings College London).   Andrew currently serves as the ISEB English Editor, ISEB Common Entrance setter and joint IAPS English Co-ordinator. He is Head of English and Drama at Copthorne Prep School in West Sussex.

Recent publications include English for Common Entrance (Hodder, 2007) and Junior English Series (Galore Park, 2006). Future titles include 11+ Practice Questions (Galore Park, 2008).

Details of our other experienced and well-qualified mentors will follow shortly.
