Pupil Workshops PDF Print E-mail

Girl readingEnglish IPS offers a range of stimulating and interactive workshops exclusively for pupils in Prep schools. Delivered by experienced English teachers – still teaching in prep schools today – our workshops are designed to enthuse and stimulate your pupils. From creative writing and drama, to exam techniques and study skills, workshops are exciting, relevant and, above all, tailored to complement the syllabus and literacy planning in your Prep school.

There are two factors that make English IPS workshops unique: the enthusiasm and limitless energy of our workshop leader, Andrew Hammond, and the quality and quantity of free resource materials left behind after the workshop has concluded!

Workshops can run for two-hours to two days,  depending on your needs and budget, and may be adapted to suit the needs of Key Stage 2 or Key stage 3 pupils, or both. Our workshop leaders will inspire your students with new and exciting ideas, activities and educational games, combining expert knowledge and practical experience of English and Drama in Prep Schools, with a real passion for learning and a love of children.

As with everything we do at English in Prep Schools, our workshops reflect the three aims we have set ourselves, which are:

  • to provide support for teachers, parents and pupils in the Prep school community;
  • to uphold rigorous standards in preparatory English teaching and learning;
  • to promote creative and innovative practices that reflect the modern world around us.

Testimonials

"The Year Eight Poetry Workshop was fantastic! The presentation was  well prepared, entertaining and clearly differentiated, allowing all of our pupils to gain a great deal from the session. I'm sure the pupils enjoyed hearing a new voice and experiencing a different  perspective, while the workshop activities ensured that they were able to take an active part in the session and practise what they'd learnt.  We'll definitely be using English-IPS again!"
