English IPS delivers a range of INSET courses designed to support and inspire English teachers in Key Stages 2 and 3 (Key Stage 1 courses to follow). Our course leaders are experienced Prep school English teachers, still practising in schools today, so their methods are tried and tested and their advice is both current and practical. Most courses can be adapted to meet the requirements of a Key Stage 2 or 3 syllabus, or both. Courses are offered as two-hour sessions, half-days or whole day workshops, available on weekdays, evenings, INSET days and weekends, depending on your needs and budget. Every course aims to show you innovative ideas and teaching methods, whether it is in reading, writing, speaking and listening, or drama and discussion, drawing upon expert knowledge of the ISEB syllabus, the National Curriculum, the New Primary Framework and the Key Stage 3 National Strategy. Fees for 2008 are: £200 twilight session; £350 half day; £600 full day English IPS plans to host several large-scale INSET courses per year at Copthorne School, West Sussex. These will be open to English and Drama teachers in Prep schools across the UK. Full information on accommodation and parking will be supplied to delegates prior to the courses.
